There has recently been a question about the possibility of laboratory assistants (not MT/MLTs) being able to load samples on the hematology analyzer (moderately complex). Would this go against CAP regulations?

JM,
CAP follows the same guidelines as CLIA for moderately complex testing. I have attached a CAP document for personnel requirements. Anyone with a high school diploma can perform waived or moderate testing as long as they have documented training and competency. So the answer to your question is: Yes, an employee with a high school diploma can load patient samples on the hematology analyzer as long as they are properly trained and their competency documented.
