I am a lab supervisor and I have the lab director meet with the lab staff quarterly. He already reviews the QC monthly and I meet with him if issues come up in between our meetings. We have practice supervisor meetings once per month and then office staff meetings every other month or so. Is a quarterly meeting with myself and the lab director necessary? I really don’t have much to tell him other than QC, calibration and the instrumentation is okay.

I think you are well covered with your supervisor and staff meetings. As long as you stick to the schedule you discussed in your question there is no need for the quarterly meeting. Make sure you have some documentation of your meetings.
